Best Western Plus Kuching

PETALING JAYA (March 11): Best Western Plus Kuching – international hotel operator Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ first foray into Sarawak’s capital – is expected to open in 2018, it said in a press release today.

The hotel will offer 200 rooms and suites equipped with flat-screen televisions and international satellite channels, mini-bars, comfortable beds and complimentary Wi-Fi.

In addition, the hotel’s facilities will include a restaurant serving local and international cuisines, a swimming pool as well as meeting and event spaces.

“This exciting project will showcase the 21st century vision of Best Western Hotels & Resorts to provide modern, well-connected and value-for-money accommodation in the key Asian destinations,” said Best Western Hotels & Resorts managing director of international operations - Asia Olivier Berrivin.

“Kuching has been growing in stature for several years now, and is becoming a key part of the East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).

“Having hosted several key regional events, such as the Asean Tourism Forum and Routes Asia Forum, Kuching is now firmly on the map for both leisure and business travel.

“As such, it was important that Best Western established a presence in this fast-growing emerging market. And I am thrilled that we have been able to achieve this with a brand new Best Western Plus hotel,” he said.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts currently operates three hotels in Malaysia – namely Best Western i-city Shah Alam, Best Western Petaling Jaya, and Best Western Premier The Haven Ipoh – and plans to grow its presence in the country significantly in the next few years.
