Effortless living – the Bon Kiara way

Boutique developer BON Estates embraces a more authentic approach to effortless living, focusing on the comforts of home that deliver a simple but meaningful and fulfilling quality of life, while enjoying the conveniences  of a dynamic neighbourhood.

At Bon Kiara, we encourage residents to embrace a good quality of life by offering them a higher standard of living via the conveniences that can be found within their home facilities and the surrounding neighbourhood."

What does effortless living mean? What comes to your mind is probably smart technologies and artificial intelligence that make life super convenient by mobile app or voice command controls.

However, boutique developer BON Estates embraces a more authentic approach to effortless living, focusing on the comforts of home that deliver a simple but meaningful and fulfilling quality of life, while enjoying the conveniences  of a dynamic neighbourhood. That is exactly  what it offers in its up and coming project, Bon Kiara, located in the popular city suburb of Mont’Kiara in Kuala Lumpur.

“Effortless living means going back to the basics, a simple yet good quality of life,” says CEO Chan Jin-Wy.

“The definition of a good quality of life varies from one individual to another. For me, it is to spend time with my family, while for a health-conscious individual, it could be spending time at the gym or running in the park.

“At Bon Kiara, we encourage residents to embrace a good quality of life by offering them a higher standard of living via the conveniences that can be found within their home facilities and the surrounding neighbourhood,” Chan adds.

Slated for completion in 2027, Bon Kiara is inspired by a Mediterranean resort look and feel. It is a GreenRE Gold-certified development that offers several energy-efficient solutions. This includes an electric-vehicle charging isolator for every household of the development.

“It is not just the facilities we are building within the development, but also with the connectivity and readily available amenities at Mont’ Kiara; be it for education, health, F&B or retail, our residents will be able to enjoy all these effortlessly,” Chan explains, while adding that the developer is also planning to provide complimentary shuttle service to nearby hot spots, including shopping and educational centres.

Life's simple pleasures at your doorstep

While Mont’Kiara is a mature neighbourhood that hosts residents from different backgrounds and cultures globally, Chan points out that the affluent suburb does not have any on-ground park, and that will change in the near future once the project is completed.

“At Bon Kiara, we encourage residents to embrace a good quality of life by offering them a higher standard of living via the conveniences that can be found within their home ecosystem and the surrounding neighbourhood,” Chan adds.

“It is not just the facilities we are building within the development, but also with the connectivity and readily available amenities at Mont’Kiara; be it for health, retail or education, our residents will be able to enjoy all these effortlessly,” Chan explains, while adding that the developer is also planning to provide complimentary shuttle service to nearby hot spots, including shopping and educational centres.

“Interestingly, there isn’t any on-ground park in the neighbourhood, but we would like to build one for our residents. Residents living in Bon Kiara will be able to enjoy a dedicated 1.5-acre open green space – the central park – that will feature facilities such as an elevated jogging and walking track, lawn and a double-storey Social House that will host a swimming pool, multipurpose hall and fitness club, among others.”

According to Chan, the open space provides a focal point for residents to gather, have picnics or even host a starlight cinema, and all these with one aim in mind – to foster a healthy community living in an effortless way.

Located on Jalan Kiara 3, Bon Kiara has a gross development value of RM750 million and will house a total of 410 residential units within two 43-storey towers. It will be built on 4.15 acres of freehold land.

In addition to the facilities at the Social House, Bon Kiara will also offer facilities such as co-working space, a family lounge, a library, a wellness deck and a kids lounge on Level 24 of each tower.

Generous built-ups and spacious layouts

Targeted at families, upgraders and empty nesters, Chan says large units, such as those on offer at the new Bon Kiara project, should be “the way to go”, especially in this time and age where everyone is in need of additional space for privacy as well as to fulfil personal lifestyle aspirations.

“After two years of facing the pandemic situation, I think people have a greater appreciation for the comfort and freedom of personal space – especially when a family member is ill or quarantined, or even having a hybrid space that can be purposed for work or personal use. Indeed, space has become a need and is no longer a want,” says Chan.

Acknowledging the fact that Mont’Kiara is already home to many high-rise residential developments, Chan says that Bon Kiara’s differentiating factor is its large units that address the prevalent demand for family-sized space and comfort at home.

“In Mont’Kiara, there used to be a lot of large units in the early days. Thereafter, many more products came into the market – the smaller and medium-size ones to cater to foreigners or perhaps to increase appeal with lower entry prices.

“Moving forward, there are always the upgraders – people who aspire to improve their lives or need more space for the growing family, and the empty nesters whose kids are no longer staying with them and want to move to a smaller space for easy maintenance and security.

“As with our successful previous project, The Estate South Bangsar, Bon Kiara targets families who genuinely want to buy and live on the property. It is important to have owners buying for their own stay as the maintenance fees are paid by them, and that is when the development is usually well-managed,” Chan points out.

Homes that foster family bonding

Notably, the smallest unit in Bon Kiara is 2,081 sq ft, which, in Chan’s words, “is almost equivalent to the size of a double-storey landed house – just one without a porch and on a single level”.

“That is the starting size and there are buyers who actually want larger sizes than this. In addition, our units are designed with an expansive lanai area that can be utilised instead of having just an outdoor balcony. Learning from our experience, we have past buyers who are siblings who want to live next to each other in their retirement years.

“At the end of the day, it is not only about targeting family-owners, but to foster family bonding. And that’s the community that we hope to build in Mont’Kiara,” Chan explains, adding that “family” in the pet-friendly Bon Kiara includes furkids.

Priced from RM580 psf, the Sky Home units in Bon Kiara feature built-up sizes ranging between 2,081 sq ft and 3,075 sq ft. They come in 3+1 bedrooms, 4+1 bedrooms and 5+1 bedrooms.
