PETALING JAYA (June 9): Marriott International on Thursday signed an agreement with Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd to bring the first Marriott Executive Apartments to Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement, Hap Seng Consolidated's chairman Thomas Karl Rapp said, "We are pleased to announce the first Marriott Executive Apartments in Kuala Lumpur, and more importantly, to add another exciting project to our growing hospitality portfolio in Malaysia."

Under Marriott International's serviced apartment brand, the 41-storey Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur is located at the intersection of Jalan Kia Peng and Jalan Stonor in Kuala Lumpur city centre.

"We are delighted to work with Hap Seng to introduce Marriott Executive Apartments to the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur. Today's signing further underscores our long-term commitment to strengthening our footprint in Malaysia," said Andree Susilo, the Asia-Pacific hotel development senior director of Marriott International.

The tower will offer 352 exclusive studios and up to three-bedroom apartment units to cater to the corporate travellers' long stay lodging needs. Several apartments are also equipped with kitchens that feature cooktops, refrigerators, microwaves and more. The project is slated for completion in 2024.

Some of the facilities of the serviced apartment are residents' lounge, rooftop bar, 25-metre outdoor swimming pool, kids club and fitness facilities equipped with lockers, sauna and steam rooms.

The project is adjacent to Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and public transport stations, offering good connectivity to various points of the city.
