KUALA LUMPUR (May 25): Tropicana Corp Bhd’s Walk and Ride event on Sunday saw 500 participants braving the heat to walk and cycle around the township to highlight its iconic walking and biking concept.

In a press statement, Tropicana marketing and sales senior general manager Ung Lay Ting said besides cultivating a healthier lifestyle, the 2km walk and 16km bike event signifies Tropicana Aman’s walking and biking concept.

“We are thrilled and thankful to receive such [an] overwhelming turnout,” she added, saying it is the third such event in the township.

Participants had a chance to win a total of 30 prizes, including the grand prize featuring an iconic yellow bicycle. Ung said since the launch of Tropicana Aman last year, the company had received positive response from the market.

Tropicana Aman is a 863-acre (349.24ha) mixed township development and features a 85-acre central linear park, with a 7km-long trail designed specifically for walking, jogging and biking within its central park.

A special preview of the third phase of the development, which will feature 272 units of semi-detached homes, will be held on Friday at the Tropicana Aman property gallery in Kota Kemuning.
