KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 16): Several reserved land plots owned by Kuala Lumpur City Hall have been reserved for public housing projects, said Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan yesterday.

“Among them are Lot 67343, Kampung Sungai Udang in Segambut, which will involve 1,500 housing units; Lot 25078 and 25580 on Jalan Persiaran Pertahanan, Kampung Wira Jaya, in Setapak (1,906 units),” he said when winding up the Supply Bill 2016 in Parliament yesterday.

However, Loga Bala did not disclose when the project would start. He said City Hall would be allocating RM250 million from the revolving fund set up for these kind of projects.

He said 29,154 units of affordable houses or 37% of the overall target of 80,000 units under the Federal Territories Affordable Homes (Rumawip) and 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing (PPA1M) have achieved the “completed”, “under construction” and “Development Order (DO) approval” stage.

Loga Bala said City Hall had identified 12 locations for the construction of multi-storey car parks to address the shortage of parking in People’s Housing Projects (PPR) and Public Housing Projects (PA).

“The proposed sites are PPR Air Panas, PPR Desa Petaling, PA Desa Rejang, PPR Desa Tun Razak, PPR Hiliran Ampang, PPR Intan Baiduri, PPR Kepong, PPR Raya Permai, PA Sri Kota, PPR Sri Pantai, PPR Sri Sabah and PPR Taman Mulia,” he said.

He added that the projects would begin next year using the 2016 budget. -- The Malaysian Insider
