Best Western Hotel & Resorts opens third hotel in Pakistan

PETALING JAYA (Feb 10): International hospitality group Best Western Hotels & Resorts opened its first hotel in Faisalabad, Pakistan -- its third hotel in the country.

“We are delighted to be able to introduce Best Western’s timeless values of comfort, connectivity and value-for-money to guests in Faisalabad. With its prime downtown location and easy access to all the city’s major business hubs and attractions, I am confident Best Western Faisalabad Hotel will be warmly welcomed by travellers,” said the group’s managing director of international operations -- Asia Olivier Berrivin in a press statement.

According to Best Western’s senior vice-president of brand management Ron Pohl, the Best Western Faisalabad Hotel welcomed its first guest in Jan 1, 2016.

It is located in the Punjabi city’s central business district, just steps away from the scenic Jinnah Gardens.

“We are offering 30 modern and air-conditioned rooms. For corporate guests, the hotel also provides a selection of meeting rooms capable of handling all types of functions, backed up by the latest multimedia technology,” he said.

Pohl noted that Faisalabad is an important economic hub for both local and international business travellers. It is also the third most populated metropolis after Karachi and Lahore in the Punjab Province in Pakistan.

“Despite its size, Faisalabad still has a shortage of high-quality international-standard hotel rooms. With the opening of Best Western Faisalabad Hotel, we plan to provide the city with a globally-recognised affordable accommodation option that will appeal to all types of travellers,” said Pohl.

The 69-year-old Best Western Hotels & Resorts, which is headquartered in Phoenix, US, runs over 4,100 hotels in more than 100 countries.

The opening of its Bangkok hotel in 2001 marked the group’s entry into Asia; today, its regional network spans over 100 hotels in 15 countries.

The group’s seven brands are Best Western Premier, BW Premier Collection, Best Western Plus, Best Western Plus Executive Residency, GLō, Best Western and Vīb.
