EcoHill Walk Mall

SEMENYIH (Nov 22): EcoHill Walk Mall, a neighbourhood mall at the Setia EcoHill township in Semenyih, is expected to open its doors by the first quarter of 2021.

The mall is part of the EcoHill Walk integrated development by Setia EcoHill Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of S P Setia Bhd.

EcoHill Walk has an estimated overall gross development value (GDV) of RM900 million. The development comprises three phases including 80 units of retail units across eight blocks (Phase 1A), EcoHill Walk Mall (Phase 1B) and 890 units of serviced apartments (Phase 2).

The development also features The Gem, which is part of the retail component (Phase 1A), a building offering 23,000 sq ft of space earmarked to host premium entertainment and fine dining outlets. It will spot a diamond-like façade and will be for sale at an indicative selling price of RM13 million.

Situated on a freehold 17.5-acre site, EcoHill Walk is planned to meet the retail, lifestyle and entertainment needs of the community at Setia EcoHill.

For the mall, the developer has confirmed MBO Cinemas as the first anchor tenant. MBO Cinemas will take up 58,000 sq ft out of the mall’s 170,000 sq ft of net lettable area.

“EcoHill Walk Mall, anchored by MBO Cinemas and a mainstream grocery brand — which will be announced very soon, will become the first lifestyle and commercial development here in Southern Klang Valley,” said general manager of Setia EcoHill Koh Sooi Meng at a signing ceremony with MBO today.

EcoHill Walk Mall will feature a 4-storey car park with 2,000 car park bays to ensure ample and sufficient parking for visitors.

Meanwhile, CEO of MBO Cinemas Lim Eng Hee said: “In line with S P Setia’s development philosophy of LiveLearnWorkPlay, MBO Cinemas will build 11 cinema halls with more than 2,000 seats altogether featuring its own Premium Large Format screen, 4D technology by MX4D, Premier Lounge, Kid’s Hall as well as MBO’s brand of Café, the Cafecito.”

Also, the retail shops at EcoHill Walk will feature 2-, 3- and 4-storey units with standard land size of 8.4m x 18.75m. Koh said this retail component with a GDV of RM263 million has secured between 30% and 40% tenancy since its preview two weeks ago. The targeted completion date for the retail units is 4Q2020.

EcoHill Walk will also feature two 40-storey blocks of serviced apartments, with 890 residential units, inclusive of a 8-storey carpark. The built-up for the residential units will range between 824 sq ft and 1,559 sq ft and facilities include a swimming pool, gym room and sunken lounge. 

“EcoHill Walk is functional, secure and convenient with a pedestrian walkway that is seamless, connected and void of vehicles.

“Link bridges also extend the convenience of reach between the serviced apartments, neighbourhood mall and the commercial shops, providing a safe and secure environment,” added Koh.

According to S P Setia, by the year 2020, the projected population within a 15-minute drive of Setia EcoHill is expected to reach about 300,000 residents.

“Furthermore, approximately 10,000 houses in this township [Setia EcoHill] will be ready in the next four years,” it said.

Meanwhile, Setia EcoHill is planning to launch its phase 2 semi-detached homes in 1Q2017.

The 673-acre township is connected to the Kajang-Seremban Highway, North-South Expressway, South Klang Valley Expressway and Sistem Lingkaran Lebuhraya Kajang Highway.

Nearby amenities include hypermarkets such as Tesco and eateries such as McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and KFC. Some of the educational institutions nearby include SK Kampung Rinching, Nottingham University (Malaysian campus) and Universiti Putra Malaysia.
