Cycle for Sight

PETALING JAYA (Oct 27): The Lions Club of KL North is organising its inaugural Cycle for Sight 2016, sponsored by S P Setia Bhd, to raise funds for the less fortunate as well as to set up its own Sight Fund.

“We are proud to organise the first ever Cycle for Sight event in our district and bring together our corporate partners to contribute towards a good cause,” said its organising chairperson How Pak Kong in a statement today.

Cycle for Sight 2016 aims to raise RM30,000 for the National Council for the Blind Malaysia, Lions Club of KL North Sight Fund and the Lions Eye Clinic.

“Some of the funds will be donated to our Lions Eye Clinic, which provides free cataract operations by a team of full-time eye surgeons and nurses for the poor and needy,” added How.

Cycle for Sight 2016 will be held on Nov 27, 2016. The cycling route will kick off at University of Nottingham Malaysia and end at Setia EcoHill, Semenyih. There will be two routes — a 11km leisure route and a 33km challenging route.

“Conceptualised as a township that promotes sustainable living for our community, Setia EcoHill has always been supportive of such events in our townships especially activities that help reduce our carbon footprint, said general manager of Setia EcoHill Koh Sooi Meng.

“Furthermore, this is for a good cause which is to raise funds for the visually impaired,” he added.
