Best Employer Award

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 25): S P Setia Bhd bagged the “Best Employer” award for the seventh time at the Aon Hewitt Best Employers 2016 awards in a ceremony held today. It also received a special mention award — the “Commitment to Engagement” award.

S P Setia president and CEO Datuk Khor Chap Jen received the Best Employer award from Aon Hewitt Southeast Asia CEO Jeremy Andrulis, while S P Setia deputy president and COO Datuk Wong Tuck Wai received the special mention for “Commitment to Engagement” from Economic Planning Unit deputy director general Johan Mahmood Merican.

“To receive this award for the seventh time has been such a tremendous honour for team Setia where our strong teamwork has always been the hallmark of the S P Setia culture ... I would like to thank every one of them for all the hard work and dedication that each team member has put in to contribute to Setia’s growing success,” said Khor.

S P Setia received the Best Employer award in the years 2015, 2013, 2011, 2009, 2005 and 2003. On top of that, in 2013 and 2011, S P Setia was also named Malaysia’s Best of the Best and Overall Best Employer respectively.

The developer said in a statement that its employees get the chance to travel overseas for work because it is an international developer. The team also gets the opportunity to attend study trips overseas to learn about new development concepts, architecture, ideas for marketing and green practices.

S P Setia’s annual family day and annual dinner also bring together staff from its offices across six countries for a day full of fun, friendly competition, performances, food, drinks and much laughter,” the company said.

The Aon Hewitt Best Employers programme is a global study and was first conducted in 2001. In Asia, it is run in 12 countries, which include China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
