KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 24): Hilton Yokohama, located in Minato Mirai 21, Yokohama, Japan, officially opened its doors to guests on Tuesday, according to a press statement issued on the same day. The hotel, operated by Hilton, is developed and owned by Ken Corp Ltd.

The 26-storey hotel comprises 339 guest rooms with ceiling-to-floor windows. Facilities in the hotel include banquet halls, meeting rooms and a 330 sq m foyer space for various functions. The hotel also houses three restaurants, namely the Melody bar and lounge, Ocean Milano fine dining and the Art Deco Yokohama Garden-themed Parade Restaurant, which offers all-day dining.

In the statement on Tuesday, Hilton area vice-president (head of Japan, Korea and Micronesia) Timothy Soper said, “We are delighted to partner with Ken Corp to bring our first Hilton hotel to Yokohama, as we mark our 60th anniversary in Japan since we introduced Hilton Tokyo in 1963.

“Its strategic location provides not only a geographical advantage, but also offers a gateway to a diverse range of cultural experiences, seamlessly catering to both business and leisure travellers. I am confident that Hilton Yokohama will deliver exceptional service and offer memorable experiences for all our guests,” Soper added.

The statement highlighted that Hilton Yokohama is situated adjacent to Music Terrace — a purpose-built music venue and waterfront complex featuring components such as K-Arena Yokohama, an arena with a seating capacity of over 20,000, and a state-of-the-art K-Tower Yokohama office building.

The hotel is located 20km away from the Haneda Airport and an 11-minute walk from the Yokohama Station. The hotel is also five minutes from the Shin-Takashima train station, providing access to Japan's largest Chinatown, the Yokohama Hammerhead complex, Landmark Tower, and the historic city of Kamakura.

Meanwhile, Hilton vice-president of brand management and full service of Asia-Pacific Vincent Ong said, “With the introduction of our flagship brand in Yokohama, a city known for its rich cultural diversity, we put our guests at the centre of it all. As we extend our signature hospitality offerings across Asia-Pacific, we look forward to delivering memorable stays at Hilton Yokohama, empowering guests to embark on new, enriching experiences.”
