KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 29): Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (Rehda) chairman Datuk Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip (pictured) was appointed as non-executive independent director of Capitaland Malaysia Trust with effect from Oct 1.

According to its Bursa filing on Friday (Sept 29), the former chief executive officer of Sunway Real Estate Trust (REIT), who retired last June 30 after reaching the age of 66, was also an adviser of the Malaysian REIT Managers Association.

He is also a panel member of the Appeal Board under the Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982 and a member of the board of Studies-Master of Real Estate Development, University Tunku Abdul Rahman.

He also holds a directorship in Ayer Holdings Bhd, which he was appointed to on the same day he retired from Sunway REIT.

He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Accountants, Australia & New Zealand, as well as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Capitalands’ units closed unchanged at 55 sen with a market capitalisation of RM1.5 billion.
