KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): The Malaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association (MyBHA) has urged the government to immediately reintroduce a strict standard operating procedure (SOP) as a preparedness measure in addition to ensuring that Malaysia becomes a destination of choice for foreign tourists to visit.
In a statement on Friday (Dec 30), MyBHA national president cum deputy secretary general of the Federation of Malaysian Business Associations, Dr Sri Ganesh Michiel, said there should be no prohibition of the movements of any tourists from abroad but the government through relevant regulatory agencies especially the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture need to take immediate action to get prepared in ensuring especially the hotel industry and the tourism industry are safe and secured.
"Among the steps that need to be taken is to immediately reintroduce a strict standard operating procedure as a preparedness measure in addition to ensure that Malaysia becomes a destination of choice for foreign tourists to visit," he said.
Michiel also called on the operators of the hotel and tourism industries as well as tourists to always be attentive in taking action to curb the Covid-19 from spreading in addition to following all the SOPs issued by the government.
