KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 16): Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) has announced the appointment of Mohd Nazri Md Shariff as acting chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately.

Mohd Nazri is taking over from Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias, who had been the CEO since July 2011.

Abdul Mutalib, 57, did not renew his contract, PR1MA said in a statement.

Mohd Nazri was previously the chief financial officer (CFO) of PR1MA. Before joining the organisation in 2016, he had served as group CEO and CFO at Tradewinds (M) Bhd and its subsidiaries with operations both local and abroad.

Currently, Mohd Nazri serves as board member of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.

PR1MA said Mohd Nazri began his career with a firm of chartered accountants in the UK. Upon his return to Malaysia, he served in commercial and investment banks and large corporations listed on Bursa Malaysia, such as Padiberas Nasional, Tradewinds Plantation Bhd, Gas Malaysia Bhd and Pernas International Holdings Group where he held various senior positions.

"A member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom, he has almost 30 years of working experience," PR1MA added. — theedgemarkets.com
