EcoWorld opens Eco Boulevard shopoffices and new Eco Botanic sales gallery

PETALING JAYA (July 24): Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) has opened its 3-storey shopoffices in Eco Boulevard at Eco Botanic in Johor Bahru, last Saturday.

“We are very excited to have our commercial component up and running as we have already welcomed our first batch of residents to Eco Botanic end of last year,” said EcoWorld president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah in a statement.

“Now, they will be able to enjoy a wide selection of shops in the vicinity from where they live. We can definitely see the Eco Botanic township coming to life with this addition.”

Located in Eco Botanic City — EcoWorld’s first completed commercial project in Malaysia — Eco Boulevard consists of 200 units of 3-storey lifestyle shopoffices with elegant English-colonial inspired architecture designs. The shopoffices are designed with outdoor retail spaces and first-floor balconies for unique al fresco experiences.

Eco Botanic’s first 624 units of cluster and semi-detached homes were handed over in October 2016.

“Eco Boulevard is strategically located and served by world-class infrastructure. It is also connected to the major highways, making it highly accessible and an ideal location for us to set up our new Eco Botanic sales gallery.

“Its easy accessibility to and from Singapore also expands the catchment area to the island state and we are able to attract foreign buyers at the same time,” noted Chang.

According to EcoWorld, Eco Boulevard is located next to EduCity, which consists of seven universities — University of Southampton, Raffles University, Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology, University of Reading, Multimedia University, the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) and Newcastle University. EduCity is expected to accommodate about 21,750 students by 2020.

Chang added that it was not only a memorable day for the developer but also for Eco Boulevard’s tenants who will be kick-starting their businesses. A lion dance ceremony, which symbolises power and good fortune, was held for all tenants.

The tenants’ representatives who were present at the lion dance ceremony were from F&B businesses such as KUU by Tea Garden, Ying Ker Lor, Universal Noodles, Yi Jia Restaurant, Coffee Valley and La Strada Coffee alongside other retailers including Nichi Electric and Lenovo Concept Store.

Eco Boulevard will also see more retailers such as Starbucks, Hamid Corner, La Pasta, Guo Ma Restaurant, Wafu Kitchen, Hook Sang Restaurant, Kafe Warisan Nor and Yap Dental, who will be moving in during the coming month, said EcoWorld.

Apart from Eco Boulevard, Eco Botanic City consists of other components such as Eco Galleria — the high street mall with 645 units of shops scheduled for completion in 2020. A remaining 11.28 acres of land has been reserved for future commercial development.

Meanwhile, Eco Nest, which is a freehold luxury residential project located in Eco Botanic, will be completed by end-2017.

Eco Nest offers 472-unit Green Mark-certified serviced apartment units in various built-ups starting from 582 sq ft and priced from RM550,000 as well as duplex units that are 1,238 sq ft and priced at RM1,069,000 onwards.
