4 new freehold condos in Singapore's prime districts to check out

SINGAPORE (July 19): If you’re looking to buy or invest in a new condominium, you may be especially keen on owning a freehold project. However, these could be considerably tougher to come by in prime districts. Thus, we've rounded up four luxe developments for you in the Tanjong Pagar, Orchard, and Novena areas that have just TOP-ed this year in 2017 or are slated for completion soon.

1. Spottiswoode Suites, District 2

This 183-unit development that TOP-ed last month comprises an interesting mix of units including 2- and 3-bedroom duplexes and 3-bedroom penthouse units ranging from 452 sq ft to 1,410 sq ft. In addition to the standard BBQ pits, tennis court and gym, the condo features a host of facilities designed to relax the mind, body and spirit, such as a spa pod, labyrinth, hydro reflexology trails, meditation and reading pavilions, a water massage alcove, and a zen garden. There are 1- to 3-bedroom units, including dual-key 3-bedroom units and eight penthouse units of up to 1,195 sqft. The nearest shopping mall is Plaza Singapura, with nearby Dhoby Ghaut MRT providing accessibility to the rest of the island. 3. M5 @ Jalan Mutiara, District 10

This very exclusive hotel-style boutique apartment has just 33 1- and 2-bedroom units ranging from 441 sqft to 1,001 sqft. The nearest MRT stations are Orchard and Somerset. The upcoming Great World MRT, which is due completion in 2021, is also nearby. The Orchard shopping belt, CBD and Marina Bay area are just a short drive away while several international schools – Overseas Family School (OFS) International School Singapore (ISS) (Elementary and Middle Schools) – are within 1km of the 12-storey development that is slated for a 2017 completion. 

4. 6 Derbyshire, District 11

The newly-completed 6 Derbyshire has 168 units comprising 1- to 3-bedroom units and a 3,444 sqft skyloft penthouse. Its amenities include swimming, reflective and spa pools, a gym, sky garden, and children’s playground. Novena MRT and United Square mall are just a 5-minute walk away. Many good schools are also in the vicinity including St. Joseph’s Institution Junior less than a 2-minute walk away, Anglo-Chinese Junior School a 5-minute drive away, and Chatsworth International School an 8-minute drive away.
